Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 November 2026
Fiber Tech, a BSNL franchise operating under the i-link brand ("Fiber Tech", "we", "us"), respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it, in line with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
1. Information we collect
- Identity and contact details: name, address, phone number, email address and WhatsApp number.
- KYC documents: identity and address proof and a photograph, which DoT rules require for every new connection.
- Service and billing information: your plan, payment history, invoices and support requests.
- Technical and usage information: IP address allocation, session logs, data usage and equipment details (such as router MAC address), needed to run the network and meet licence requirements.
- CCTV services: if you take our CCTV service, footage is stored on your own recorder or service, and we access it only when you ask us to for installation or support.
2. How we use your information
- to verify your identity and set up, activate and maintain your connection;
- to bill you, collect payments and send renewal reminders;
- to respond to support requests and complaints;
- to tell you about planned maintenance, outages and changes to your plan;
- to send offers about our own services, which you can opt out of at any time;
- to meet our legal and licence obligations, including keeping records that DoT requires.
3. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- BSNL, as our franchisor and network partner, to provision and run your connection;
- service providers who help us operate, such as payment gateways, billing software and installation partners, who may use it only for that purpose;
- OTT and content partners, only the details needed to activate a subscription included in your plan;
- government and law-enforcement agencies, when required by law or a valid legal order.
4. How long we keep your information
We keep your information while your connection is active, and afterwards for as long as the law or our licence conditions require (for example, DoT rules on keeping subscriber and usage records). After that, it is deleted or anonymised.
5. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss or misuse. KYC documents are stored with restricted access. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you and the authorities of a breach as required by law.

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:
